Avoiding only the airport's, hunters, etc., no one corners in the 655 and game target have left the area, Ladd Field Air Corps officers are preparing for the first large scale aerial bombing maneuvers ever staged in Alaska.

Target Defined

Evacuation notice has already been served on year-round and seasonal occupants of the vast tract, which extends from the junctions of the Ladd Field Reservation and the Tanana River down stream on the Tanana River to Wood River; upstream on the Wood River to Parallel 64 degrees 20 minutes. This parallel forms the southern boundary of the area, reaching eastward to the Tanana River. The Tanana, itself flowing downstream to the Ladd Field Reservation forms the eastern extreme of the bombing range.

Closed to Entry

The bombing range is closed to all entry, except by specific permission of Lieutenant-Colonel Dale V. Gaffney, Ladd Field commanding officer.

In Fairbanks adjusting claims of settlers in the area is Major Silas W. Hosea from the headquarters of the Alaska Defense Command, Anchorage.
