Letters have been received from Germany within these few
days, which make mention of a violent storm of hail that fell
lately in Bohemia, extending from Prague to Sorau; the hail
stones are said to have weighed, several of them, three pounds
each; the grain and other fruits of the earth were destroyed
for one hundred and twenty miles in circumference, and many
persons, together with the beasts that were in the fields, were
killed. The same letters say, that there is the most general ap-
pearance of very plentiful crops throughout Germany, except in
that particular district where the storm fell, which came from
the South, and took its direction Northerly.
