Full Text

Robbery. -- On Tuesday night, the western stages were plundered of their baggage, on the Schenectady turnpike about three miles from this city. The robbers did not cut, but deliberately undid the straps of the boot which contained trunks of the passengers, broke them open, but very fortunately, there was little money in them. -- One of the trunks containing sixty dollars, the little all of an industrious young man, is missing. The rest of the trunks and clothing were recovered yesterday, but there is still several articles missing.

This is not the first nor second robbery which has taken place at about this spot within a few years. We fear there is a nest of desperadoes lurking about. The proper authorities are on the alert and we hope every good citizen will lend a helping hand in bringing to justice midnight robbers.
