POST MASTER.
It is really amusing to the democracy of our town to see the movements of the office seeking, government pap-despising whigs are making to get a new Post Master appointed. Well, all we have to say in the matter is, go it Whiggery. Bring on your thunder, we are ready for you. We are advised that no less than five petitions are being circulated for different persons for the appointment of Post Master. We shouldn't wonder if some would get floored. Who'll be successful? we shall wait and see.
An old coon says, the reason of the change in the weather is: 'because the Loco Focoes went out of office, and the democrats took charge of affairs at Washington.' We hope he don't mean old Zack's Message is a specimen of Democracy, the democrats don't claim it at least. No wonder the weather changes, would not at all be alarmed if there should be another change, before old General delivers his next address. "There always must be a storm after thunder."
We return friend Fouke, of the Lower Sandusky Freeman and former Editor of the Wyandot Tribune, our thanks for his well wishes in our behalf. By the by, Jimmy is a first-rate fellow, and personally we wish him success, but in politics we shall always try to Checkmate him.
Every body will of course read Zack's Inaugural in to-day's paper. We must say we were very much disappointed on reading the address. We looked for something better from the old hero.
