Improvement Of Lighting In Both Towns
The Governor's Representative revealed that the Department of Public Works is making a concerted effort to improve the lighting conditions in a number of areas in the towns of Christiansted and Frederiksted.
In an effort to do away with many poorly lighted streets in Christiansted, Deputy Commissioner of Public Works, Alfonso Paraliticci, on July 24 requested the Virgin Islands Corporation to install proper lighting at the following locations:
Corner of Strand and West Streets.
On West Street, between Strand Street and West Lane.
On Market Street, between King and Strand Streets.
On Hill Street, between top of hill and Church Street.
On Watergut, between the Horse Well and the eastern entrance to Pleasant Grove.
On Richmond Road, near Camacho's Store.
On East Street, between Queen Cross Street and top of hill towards east.
On corner of Queen and West streets, and east of said corner.
On King Street, between Queen Cross and King Cross Streets.
At Gallows Bay, about north of Paul James, house.
Company Street, between King Cross Street and pool room.
