IN MEMORIAM
Acrostic dedicated to the memory of my husband. Rev. Luther Alexander Townsley.
Left an orphan at the age of three,
Unprotected by parents dear;
Trusting in Him who made him free,
His was a life of service and cheer.
Efficient and untiring as a minister of God,
Ready to obey and preach His word.
Altruistic. sympathetic and loving was he.
True to His God and fellow men
On him you could always depend.
Working thru health, sickness and pain
Never shirking. he was faithful to the end.
Suddenly, four years ago at the break of day
Leaving wife and friends,
God called him away.
Early Easter morning, he gave up the ghost,
Yea, like a martyr, he died at his post.
Sadly missed by his wife (Mrs.) Malinda A. Townsley
