April 3. The corps of Russians under General Czernicheff, which has left Silesia, consisted of 25,000 men; and the fourteen regiments that Gen. Laudohn is to receive from Saxony (six more being ordered to follow the eight already mentioned) scarce amount to 11,000; so that it is thought the King of Prussia will be able to act offensively in Silesia on the opening of the campaign: and the withdrawing the 14 regiments will so reduce Marshal Daun's army, that he will be no longer able to support himself against Prince Henry, whose force is considerably increased by the junction of great part of the troops which acted last campaign against the Russians in Pomerania.

Event Details

Russian corps under General Czernicheff, consisting of 25,000 men, has left Silesia. Fourteen regiments from Saxony to Gen. Laudohn total about 11,000 men. This allows the King of Prussia to act offensively on campaign opening. Withdrawing these regiments reduces Marshal Daun's army, making it unable to withstand Prince Henry, whose force is augmented by troops from last campaign against Russians in Pomerania.
