Full Text

Madame Sontag, our readers will regret to learn, is quite seriously ill. Her concert which was to have taken place last evening, was consequently postponed, and will probably be given on Monday next. Madame Sontag is suffering in consequence of unguarded exposure to the night air combined with great excitement on occasion of the serenade to her, which proved such a tumultuous affair. We regret to hear also that since that time there have occurred other causes of excitement which have acted unfavorably upon her health. The disappointment to the public is a serious one and much sympathy is expressed on her account. However we may expect that a few of these delightful autumnal days will completely restore her health and spirits. N. Y. Courier and Enquirer 21st inst.
