NO ACTION TAKEN FOLLOWING SHOOTING

Charles Knable, sheepherder for Gus Linden, who was arrested the latter part of last week in Pomeroy Basin, following a fight with Roy Galloway, a herder for the J. B. Smith outfit, in which the latter was struck by fragments from a bullet which hit his saddle horn, and fired by Knable, was released from the county jail the day after his arrest, investigation proving to the local authorities that Knable was the less to blame. Galloway, who received treatment in the L. C. M. hospital, is able to be up and around.

Investigation tends to show that the men had been fighting on the morning of the shooting, Wednesday of last week, at the Linden camp, and that Galloway went to the Smith camp, where he procured a rifle and returned. It was then that Knable fired at him, claiming self-defense.
