Full Text
In the last Winchester Republican we observe a communication from one of the Delegates to the late Senatorial Convention for this District, from which we make the following extract:-
The different delegates went into the Convention in a spirit of harmony, and with a determination to sacrifice every other consideration to that of the triumph of the Whigs in this district.
It was soon discovered that Cromwell Orrick, Esq., of Morgan, was the favorite. He was unanimously believed, by the Convention, to be the most available man in the district, and accordingly, without any difficulty, he was nominated and unanimously recommended to the electors of the district, as every way worthy of their support. He is a staunch and as sound a Whig as there is in the district.
This County being nearly in a state of political equilibrium, Mr. Orrick's nomination will greatly aid in the election of our candidate for the House of Delegates. His nomination will give us a decided advantage in the County canvass.
