Ann Arbor, May 3—The two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Shirley W. Smith, 1706 S. University Ave., have just received new appointments, one in the Armed Service and the other in the medical world.
Donald S. Smith, Detroit, has been commissioned a lieutenant junior grade in aviation, in the Naval Reserve and is awaiting orders to report at a training school.
Dr. Clement A. Smith has been named professor of pediatrics at the Wayne University Medical School and has moved to Detroit from Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Smith's wife is the former Margaret Earhart of Ann Arbor and they have four children.
The wife of Lt. Smith was the former Sarah Jane Goodale of Ann Arbor and she and the two children will maintain their home in Detroit during his absence in the Navy.
