Three Persons Hurt in Crash
Auto, Pickup Truck Hit Near Mercedes

MERCEDES, June 9 -(Spl)- Three persons were injured when an auto and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Mile Two Road and U. S. Highway 83 west of here early Sunday.

State Patrolman C. D. Mussey said an auto driven east by Charles Lee Bogle, 23, Harlingen, turned left on Mile Two in front of a pickup driven by R. J. O'Dowd, Weslaco.

Sonny Sutton, Harlingen, suffered a crushed ear in the crash and Miss Mary Ann Harrison, Harlingen, and Helen Jean Allen, Weslaco, suffered scratches and bruises.

Sutton and Miss Harrison were riding with Bogle, while Miss Allen was riding with O'Dowd.

Mussey said a hearing in connection with the crash was scheduled for 2 p.m. today in Justice of the Peace T. J. Fikes' court here.
