WESTWARD OFFENDERS
BROUGHT IN ON STARR:
ELEVEN PRISONERS

A considerable grist of Westward offenders arrived in Seward Sunday aboard the S. S. Starr, in port from the far west Bristol Bay region. U. S. Deputy Marshal Regan had seven prisoners in his charge whom he took to Valdez for incarceration or for consideration by the grand jury. The names or the alleged crimes were not ascertained.

From the Kodiak area his charges numbered four; these included the man who swiped dresses from a Kodiak store and then tried to peddle them; the man who shipped in 50 gallons of "linseed oil"; a prisoner from Uzinkie who nearly beat another chap to death. and a 13 year-old boy from the Kodiak mission who has been caught in two thefts and is declared to be incorrigible.
