Cheering News!!—The Washington Union;
which always has the latest and most accurate intelligence, gives the following—which is news in these parts:—Whig.

From the Union of Monday Night.

We understand that a called meeting of the Whigs of Richmond has been held, who have enthusiastically declared their preference for Mr. Clay over any other man in the world, and their decided approbation of the course of Messrs. Botts, Janney, and Macfarland. The vote was 404 to 1. This is an evidence that the Clay stock is not falling, in spite of the Taylor partialities of the late State Whig Convention.
