The shooting affray that we referred to in our last issue as occurring at the Sherman Restaurant, near the corner of Cedar and Cherry streets, we learn, was between a colored soldier named Shepherd and the proprietor, also colored, Amos Johnson. Shepherd refused to pay his bill, high words ensued. Johnson slapped his face and the negro fired twice, one ball hitting a negro boy in the leg, and the other wounding Johnson severely. The case was called for investigation in the Police Court yesterday morning, but as the negro was a soldier, the whole matter was transferred to the Provost Marshal.
