Ride in Stolen Car Ends Abruptly Here For Columbus Boys

Three Columbus youths, aged 12, 13, and 15, landed in the Union County Juvenile Detention Home Friday afternoon after a brief journey in a car stolen in Bellefontaine.

The trio walked into the Logan County seat from Camp Wilson, a boys' camp near the town and allegedly took a 1939 Chevrolet automobile from its parking place.

The journey came to an abrupt halt near the Sinclair Service Station on W. Fifth st. at 2 p. m. when they skidded into a light pole when trying to pass another car. Sheriff Walter Galloway stated that the brakes on the car apparently pulled them sideways into the pole. The car was considerably damaged.

Police Officer, Clarence Brown took the boys into custody when he investigated the wreck and brought them to the Sheriff's office.
