AARON DELAND,
Celebrating AMERICAN INDEPENDENCY.

SCENES
A Dome, furnished with emblematic sculpture, and in the
centre of the scene the statue of General Washington,
standing upon a pedestal, decorated with honorary mot-
tos and transparent foliage.

CHORUS.
Sisters of the tuneful throng,
Nobly elevate the song;
'Tis Glory calls and Liberty,
To hail our Independency!
To Schuylkill's flow'ry bank repair,
Ev'ry sportive grace is there;
Sprightly dance and revelry,
To hail our independency!

Sisters of the tuneful throng, &c.
There the tales of triumph sound,
Tales, that soothe the Vet'ran's wound!
Of wondrous toils by land and sea,
To gain our Independency!

"Sisters of the tuneful throng."
From Saratoga's glor'ous field,
Bring the standard! bring the shield!
With drums and martial symphony
To grace our Independency!

"Sisters of the tuneful throng."
From York-Town heights, or Princeton plain,
Lead the fallen captive train:
'Tis God-like triumph thus to see
The foes of Independency!

"Sisters of the tuneful throng," &c.
But now the din of war is past,
Tyranny has spent its blast!
The olive, twin'd with laurel, see!
To crown our Independency!

"Sisters of the tuneful throng," &c.
The youth that by Minerva led,
Bravely for his country bled.
To love may fondly bend the knee,
To Love and Independency.

"Sisters of the tuneful throng,"&c.
While Venus makes such worth her care,
None but the brave deserve the fair!"
And science greets the great and free,
The child of Independency!

"Sisters of the tuneful throng," &c.
Come then Sisters! come away!
A debt of gratitude to pay;
Behold the shrine! prepare the crown,
To deck the brow of WASHINGTON.

Sisters of the tuneful throng,
Sweetly elevate the song;
"Tis Glory calls and Liberty.
To hail our Independency.'
