Event Details
A Serjeant and 12 Men of the late General Forbes's Regiment, going from Still-Water to Scorticook to fetch Provisions, were attacked by a Party of Indians in the woods. The Indians fired before being seen, killing an Officer (Lieutenant Watts) and two Men. The remainder pursued but could not overtake the Indians and returned to camp. Two of the party were wounded. On hearing the firing, detachments were sent from Stillwater and Scorticoke across the river to search the woods but saw nothing of the enemy.
