We hear also, that a Serjeant and 12 Men of the late General Forbes's Regiment, going from Still-Water to Scorticook (where they had been to fetch Provisions) in passing the Woods were attacked by a Party of Indians, who fired upon them Before they saw them, and killed an Officer and two Men. the Remainder pursued, but could not overtake the Indians, and returned to their Camp: The Officer's Name is Watts, was a Lieutenant in the said Regiment, and was returning with them to his Camp ; 2 of the above Party were wounded.--On hearing a firing, some Detachments were immediately sent across the River from Stillwater and from Scorticoke, who searched the Woods all round, but could see nothing of the Enemy.
