Mr. Cheever L. Shine, son of our fellow citizen, R. A. Shine, has been nominated by the Democratic voters of Pensacola as a candidate for mayor.
Mr. Shine was reared in Tallahassee, his birthplace, and his friends here are legion; and they all know that, if elected to the chief magistracy of our sister city, his administration will be one of honor to himself and family, a source of pride to his friends and a delight to the residents of the city he will so faithfully serve.
Cheever has been a resident of Pensacola for more than seven years, and is fully identified with the interests of the city. He has held the position of city clerk for the past two years, is thoroughly conversant with the duties of the mayoralty, and is in all respects qualified to conduct the affairs of a growing and progressive city like Pensacola.
The True Democrat, in conjunction with Mr. Shine's other Tallahassee friends, are proud of the successes he has already achieved in his chosen field of labor, and hope that the majority of the citizens of his adopted home will recognize his character and fitness for high office by bestowing upon him the highest official prize their possession.
