On the 15th of December last, the Beys obtained a decisive victory near Minie, two days journey from Cairo, over the Arnauts, or the Albanians, commanded by Mahomed Aly. Ibraham Bey engaged their attention in front by a vigorous attack, whilst Bardissi Bey attacked their flank, and Elfy Bey in the rear. The Albanians have lost 2000 men in this affair, some by the sword, and some in the river: The safety of the roads and the navigation of the Nile suffer much by this circumstance; nothing can arrive at Cairo or at Alexandria, and the scarcity is extreme.
