Full Text

Heavy Snow.—During most of the week previous to Saturday last, snow fell in this vicinity at intervals. On Saturday night the elements contrived to sift all at once in addition to previous unmelted contributions, a full foot of snow. Sunday morning nearly the whole city was alert, throwing off the snow from roofs, that were not constructed to bear the weight. Some roofs caved, but the majority were soon safely relieved of the extra load. On Sunday and Monday the weather was comparatively pleasant, but on Tuesday a rain set in, and has continued to rain heavily at intervals ever since, taking off the snow.
