An Oyster supper was given on last Thursday night by Mr J. Mc Millen Superintendant of Public Animals in charge of Capt. G. J. Stealy A. Q. M. at this post, to some of his friends, he having resigned his position and on the point of leaving for his home at Parkersburgh.

The occasion was a very happy one and well improved by the guests.

The entertainment was excellent and we believe fully appreciated by all present. It is conceded on all hands that Mr. McMillen thoroughly understands his business, the best proof of which is found in the fact that for more than one year he has superintended the stock in a most satisfactory manner.

In addition to that we do know that he knows how to keep hotel'. With these two qualifications he can travel, and always find friends.
