For the first time in the history of 4-H club work in Big Horn county, boys and girls are feeding baby beef calves and fat lambs for the market according to George W. Gustafson, county extension agent. Sixty lambs were fed by six members of the St. Xavier lamb feeding club under the leadership of H. K. Snively. These lambs were purchased from Matt Tschirgi at an average weight of 63 pounds and fed for a period of nearly 120 days when they were sold to the Billings market. Many of these lambs weighed 100 pounds when sold. Members of the club who fed these lambs are: Kenneth and James Snively, Rudolph and Adolph Strobbe, Junior Johnson and Manuel Lackman. Two clubs with a combined membership of 14 boys and girls are feeding baby beef calves in preparation for the Junior Livestock show and sale to be held at Billings this fall.
