TRIPLE MURDER IN TEXAS.

GALVESTON, April 16.-A News'
San Antonio special details a terrible
triple murder which took place about
seven miles from that city. John
Simmons, a heavy stock owner, left
home on Sunday; yesterday a herder.
named J. S. Phillips, went out with
the sheep about noon. Mr. Simmons
was found lying in the herder's room
with his throat cut, and, from appearances, he had been outrageously assaulted. The alarm was given and
soon the bodies of a child and Mrs.
Simmons' mother, Mrs. Parker, were
found at the foot of an embankment
about a hundred yards from the house
with their skulls crushed in. The
herder seems to think that Simmons
is the murderer, but he himself
was committed without bail
