News of Great Falls
Building Trades

Meeting called to order at 7:30 by President Davidson with Bro. Hamm acting as vice president pro tem and Bro. Enquist acting as secretary pro tem.

Credentials
From the Boilermakers' Local No. 602 advising that Bro. Jack L. Thornton had been appointed as their delegate to the council. Motion made and carried that Bro. Thornton be obligated and seated.

Communications
Minutes of the Cascade County Trades & Labor Assembly for Nov. 21 and Nov. 28 read and on motion the Secretary was ordered to write letters to our senators and representatives asking for their support in the repeal of the 20% amusement tax and also for an increase in income tax exemptions.

Motion made and carried that we concur in the open letter to William Green and that same be signed and sent in.

From the Gallatin County Building and Construction Trades Council returning the application for a state charter advising that their council had taken no action in the matter. Letter placed on file.

From the National Labor Relations Board asking that the council complete, sign and return to them form No. NLRB 1085. Motion made and carried that the matter be held up until the Secretary returns.

From the National Labor Relations Board asking for two copies of the constitution and by-laws. Motion made and carried that the copies be sent out.

From the Carpenters' Auxiliary enclosing 12 tickets for their card party to be held on Saturday evening, December 6th at the Carpenters hall. Motion made and carried that we purchase the tickets.

Roll Call
The roll was called and delegates noted absent.

Reports of Committees
Bro. Davidson reported progress of the Veterans' Advisory Committee.

The Club room Committee reported that they are giving a free dance on Saturday evening, December 13th at the Carpenters' Hall and asked that the announcement be carried in the minutes.

The committee on the city manager form of government was discharged with thanks. Bro. Swanson of the Chicago Mercantile committee reported that the matter had not yet been settled.

Unfinished Business
Motion made and carried that the tickets for the Carpenters' Auxiliary Card Party be given to the delegates who can use them.

Announcements
Don't forget the free dance Saturday night, December 13, 1947 at the Carpenters' Hall, for all members of Crafts affiliated with the Building Trades Council.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
