Denmark entertains serious apprehensions with respect to the French, and is preparing for raids. Private letters of the 15th December [state that] her apprehensions are well founded and considerable force is collecting in the neighborhood of Hamburg for the purpose, it is supposed a strong body will be on the confines of Holstein occupied as a conquest that even the little share of authority at present enjoyed by the senate will be speedily annihilated. There is even talk of the enforcement of more rigorous measures against the trade with England than have yet been adopted.
