My Spencer Is
Sold For $6800

My Spencer, a bay gelding consigned by Forrest Webb of London, brought the top price-$6,800 -at the first annual winter speed sale last Wednesday before some 2,000 persons at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

Dr. Roy A. H. Knisley of Toledo bought the pacer, sired by Prince Spencer. He plans to ship it to California, where it will be trained in Eddie Cobb's stable.

The sale, described by the experts as a "good one," attracted horse buyers from at least a half dozen states in this part of the country.

The Smith & Moon stable of Washington C. H. was the biggest seller. Its four horses brought a total of $8,900.

And one of the Washington C. H. horses, Ohio Boy, sired by Ohio Abbe, brought the second highest amount-$2,800--when it was exhibited in the sales ring in one of the cattle sales barns at the Fairgrounds.

Walter Michael of Bucyrus bought Ohio Boy and Air Bow (sired by Commandant), the latter bringing $2,500, third highest price for the day.

Dr. Roy Knisley, who paid the highest price in the sale, has at least four other horses in training in California in Eddie Cobb's stable. They include Hodgen, a pacer which won more than $27,000 last year; Gene Abbe and Lomita Queen, and Dusty Gray, all pacers.

Among the other horses which brought some of the top money at the sale were: Zinna Song (sired by Gay Song), bought by W. H. Bennett, of Buffalo, N. Y. for $2,000, and consigned by Jim Moody of Mechanicsburg; Gay Rhythm (sired by Gay Song), bought by Klink and Brooks for $1,000 and consigned by Jim Moody.
