PHOENIX, Sept. 30.-Northern Arizona potatoes will average 50 sacks to the acre, according to Dr. Oscar C. Bartlett, who returned Saturday from Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties, where he represented the state entomologist's office for the past three months.
From an agricultural viewpoint the state was never in better condition, declared the assistant entomologist who said hard times talk did not apply to the section of the state where he has been established during the summer months.
Two and a half cents a pound has been offered for potatoes and Dr. Bartlett believes the average clean up will be $100 an acre.
"The biggest potato crop in the history is to the credit of the north this year," said Dr. Bartlett.
