FREIGHT CAR BURNS:

$1,500 LOSS AT CASPER

The overturning of an oil heater kept in the car to prevent the freezing of canned goods is supposed to have started a fire that partially destroyed a Burlington freight car, at Casper, and ruined more than $1,500 worth of groceries shortly after 1 o'clock Monday. The car was on a siding at the Burlington freight depot at Casper. The fire was not noticed by Burlington employees until the entire interior of the car was ablaze and smoke commenced to seep through the top. Efficient work on the part of the fire department prevented a spread of the conflagration to adjoining cars.
