Contest Will Pick "Queen" of HS

A contest for the selection of the "Queen of the Charlotte Amalie High School" is now in progress. Sponsored by the CAHS Athletic Council the contest is designed to raise funds to enable the school to purchase uniforms for the athletic competition with St. Croix which will take place in May.

The candidates include: Maude Hoheb, 12th grade; Grace Ebbesen, 11th; Ada Mae Roberts, 10th; Betty Vanterpool, 9th; Elizabeth Cruz, 8th, and Delphine Brown, 7th.

Each grade met separately and voted on the student to represent it. The winning candidate, judged on the basis of the number of votes secured, will make the trip to St. Croix with the athletic squads.

The contest should end in April, and a Coronation Party is planned for the first week in May in honor of the winning candidate.
