The membership committee of the YWCA closed its special drive Friday evening at the Phyllis Wheatley Branch with a tea.
At this gathering, Mrs. J. W. Dobbs, chairman of the committee, expressed herself as being satisfied with the result of the drive. She added that the committee will continue to reinstate old members and solicit new members.
The same committee will sponsor membership tea each month, it was stated.
Mrs. Dobbs reported the largest number of new members during the drive, and Miss Jessie Reid and Miss Emma C. Arnold were second and third in respective order.
A large gathering attended the tea. Misses Ceanette Hubert and Josephine Dobbs rendered a vocal duet, and Mrs. Johnson Hubert offered several selections.
Those assisting in sponsoring the affair were Mesdames Lois Mr. Math, Isabelle Gasset, Sylvia Reid, Rowena Parham Thompkins and Ruth Jackson.
