There was an exodus of young people from Smyrna last weekend, as graduates of Smyrna High School in June left for college, and others returned for further studies at the colleges and universities of their choice.
Among the June graduates who will attend the University of Delaware will be Larry Ellery, Roger Kelsey, Larry Vodvarka, Carole Wickham, Jacqueline Diemicke, and Chester Stachecki. Jack Lofland, also a graduate in June will enter William and Mary College, at Williamsburg, Va. and David Comegys will return there as a sophomore.
Judith Passmore will attend Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa. and Jacqueline Roe will enter Sullins College, Bristol, Va. Sandra Robinson will return as a sophomore to Tennessee Tech, Cookeville, Tenn. Bruce Wright and John Urian will be students at Wesley College, Dover. Janet Wickham, a senior at the University of Delaware, is doing practice teaching in Newark, and among those returning to the university are Ben Solloway, Tommy Price, G. Richard Price, Robert Reed, Karl Gebhart, William C. Pritchard III, Charlotte Pryor, and Kay Bulger. Richard Nelson, who attended the University of Delaware last year, has entered the Goldey-Beacom School of Business, Wilmington. Diana Davis will return for her second year to Dean Junior College, Franklin, Mass. Robert E. Hurd, of Clayton returns to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his second year. Warner W. Price III has returned to St. Andrew's School, Middletown. Joan M. Niles, twelve-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome D. Niles, Jr., is now a resident student at St. Catherine's School, Richmond, Va.
