Weston, Jan. 2.

The local basketball girls and boys went to Milton and the boys came back with drooping heads, saying that they were defeated by the boys' gymnasium team of that city by a score of 28 to 10,

while the girls came back with flying colors, saying that the Milton girls' gymnasium team refused to play the second half and had to forfeit the game to them.

Mr. and Mrs. James Compton of this city spent several days visiting relatives in the Garden City during this week.

Mr. Emery Staggs was an Athena visitor on Saturday.

Mr. Claud Price of this city was an Athena visitor this week. The Misses Sadie Beamer, Ida Kilgore, Gladys Banister and Blanche Staggs were Milton visitors on Thursday and Misses James Beamer, Roy Lieuallen, Robert Allen and James Kirkpatrick were also visitors in that city.

Mr. Robert Reynolds was an Athena visitor during the week.

Mrs. Minnie Walker made a business trip to Pendleton during the week.

Mr. Mathew Turner, who has been in the Sacramento Valley, looking after his real estate for the past two months, has returned to Weston.

Mr. Eddie Jarman, who has been visiting relatives during the holidays in Weston, has returned to Spokane Washington.

Miss Edna Simpson of Walla Walla, is visiting friends in Weston this week.

Mr. Walter Beamer and John Banister witnessed the basketball game in Milton last Thursday.

Mr. Long of Milton, the telephone lineman was in this city and installed four new telephones as follows: Proudfoot, Kirkpatrick, Smith and Marsh residences.
