You know Morehouse beat us in 1936 by a 14-7 score when we had one of our greatest teams at LeMoyne. The next year (1937) we beat Morehouse 27-2 in Memphis, Tenn. They had Leroy "Roughhouse" Haynes, All-American end, and we just weren't able to stop him.
Chatting merrily about football, Roulhac stated: "I guess everybody remembers George "Bubber" Mitchell's intercepted pass that won for Morehouse in 1933. Football is a funny game . . . we worried about beating everybody that year but Morehouse . . . they just got our goat."
Roulhac wanted to talk about a 22-0 victory over Alabama State back in the Golden era of SIAC football, but the huge Silver Bird started warming up. A few minutes later the giant bird was just a dot in the sky . . . and then out of sight.
