This is another daring attempt to proscribe that freedom of conscience, liberty of speech and independence of action, which distinguishes man from the brute. It has properly excited intense indignation and alarm throughout the empire state and we are glad to perceive in the Utica Standard, that a call is made for a public meeting in that city, signed by 128 persons of superior character, "in reference to this threatened outrage upon liberty, humanity and literature.
