STATEMENT OF FACTS.

To the EDITOR.

Sir,

An incorrect representation having been made in the Commercial Advertiser of last evening, you are requested to give the following statement of facts:

In consequence of a misunderstanding having taken place between Mr. Cadwallader R. Colden, and Mr. John S. Provost, they had a meeting on Tuesday afternoon at Powles Hook. After having exchanged two shots, Mr. Colden received a slight contusion on the head, the seconds then endeavoured to bring about a reconciliation, but finding the same ineffectual, a third shot was exchanged, when the seconds interposed, and obliged the parties to separate.
