Ice on Ford Lake Not Sufficient For Skating

The Ford Lake cove was not covered with sufficient ice today to allow skating but if the cold snap continues it will be, said Ford company officials. Arrangements are made by them each year for the clearing of snow from the ice to allow skating.

City officials indicated they would not have a skating pond for Ypsilanti children this winter. A plan attempted for a short period last year cost the city approximately $50 a day for operation expenses, said Mayor Ross K. Bower.
