RIDGE MANOR
Hope To Have Course Ready Christmas Week

George Pattison, assistant to Hans Schmeiser and actively in charge of the construction of Ridge Manor Community's 9-hole golf course, said this week that he hopes to have it ready for play by Christmas week. This is being made possible by a heavy seeding of rye on the greens, aprons and approaches and tees and traps.

Bermuda, sprigging, completed several weeks ago, will take over in the spring.

Six greens, aprons and approaches are completely finished now. They have been "cross-spiked", weeded, fertilized, top-dressed and planted to an average of 275 pounds of rye per green. Others will be completed by Friday. A week from then, all tees and traps will be ready.

J. Earl Miller, company president, has not announced plans for use of the course, but it is anticipated it will be opened when Schmeisner gives him the word that it is playable.
