PERSONAL MENTION—Mr. Wm. Nicholls left yesterday afternoon upon a visit to friends up in Brooke county.
Mrs. Louisa Hedges, an old resident of Brooke county, who has been visiting friends in Iowa for the past five months, has just returned home well pleased with her trip.
Mr. Robert French, Superintendent of Trains on the Second Division of the B. & O. Road, is in the city with his wife, on a pleasure trip.
Mr. Wm. Boughner, of the B. & O. Express office, has been called to his home at Harlem Springs, O., by the dangerous illness of his mother.
Hon. C. F. Scott, Postmaster of Parkersburg, is in the city.
Dr. Gerstell, of Keyser, one of West Virginia's most venerable and distinguished physicians, is in the city. His numerous friends here will doubtless be glad to hear of his presence among us.
Mr. Harry Harden, one of the substantial men of Steubenville, is in town on a visit to his mother.
Late arrivals at the McLure include Hon. Lorenzo Danford, St. Clairsville; Hon. C. F. Scott, Parkersburg; John G. Kelly, Philadelphia.
At the Stamm last night were: F. E. McCoy, Sistersville; M. B. Davis, New Martinsville; J. E. Hooton, Moundsville; D. A. Woodburn, Cameron.
