PONTVILLE, (Pa.) April 15. - A very destructive fire broke out this morning, resulting in the loss of $235,000 of property. The Parshall House, opera house were gutted, and the Brunswick Hotel seriously damaged.
The fire originated in the opera house, and in half an hour the whole building was in flames. The cause of the fire is unknown.
In answer to urgent calls an engine arrived from Oil City. The fire is still smouldering.
One colored cook named Williams was found in the ruins. One fireman, A. Howard, was seriously burned, but will recover. The Brunswick Hotel and opera house will be rebuilt. Insurance $106,000.
