New York, Dec. 10.-This afternoon 250 white men employed as longshoremen at the National Line piers stopped work suddenly because colored men were being employed by the same company. A squad of police came down to the pier, but their presence was hardly necessary to preserve order. A week ago three colored men and one white man were burned together in the big fire at this pier.
