THE SHORE LINE RAILROAD:
Large and Harmonious Meeting Held in Cherryfield.

MACHIAS, Jan. 28.

A large meeting was held at Cherryfield, yesterday, in the interest of the Shore Line Railroad. Calais, Eastport, Pembroke, East Machias and Ellsworth were represented. John C. Talbot was president. Samuel D. Leavitt, E. A. Barnard, James R. Talbot, Alexander Campbell and a large number of prominent business men were present. New York capitalists had a representative in attendance. If the towns from Calais to Ellsworth, inclusive, furnish fifteen hundred dollars per mile the road will be built, the work to commence in the spring and be completed for the rolling stock in 1883. The meeting was harmonious and the prospects of success are most encouraging.
