A Providence Eagle Was Sliding Down Pole In Baltimore Fire Station.
Baltimore, Md., Sept. 14—Harris W. Horner, 42 years old, of 135 Broadway, Providence, R. I., who came to Baltimore Monday night as a delegate to the Eagles' Convention, met with an accident yesterday, which physicians say may keep him in a hospital six weeks.
Mr. Horner with other Eagles was inspecting an engine house. He was on the second floor and attempted to slide down to the ground. He landed with such force that the bone in his left leg was broken just above the ankle. He was taken to the City hospital.
Mr. Horner is a member of Providence Aerie of Eagles, No. 99, and is the captain of the degree team. He left with the local delegates for the National Convention of the Eagles in Baltimore on the steamer Powhatan last Saturday at midnight. The delegates are expected to return on the 21st of this month.
