Milk Cooling Conferences Held in Three Kent County Towns in Md.
Conferences were held last week at Worton, Kennedyville and Chestertown, Md., with dairymen of the county to discuss the provisions and requirements governing the cooling of milk sold to milk stations in the county, which will become effective on April 1. The conferences were called by the Inter-State Dairy Council of Philadelphia, acting in conjunction with the Supplee-Wills-Jones Company, of that city, who control the milk stations on the Delmarva peninsula, and officials of the State Extension Service. Discussions had to do with the character and size of coolers most economical for the dairymen of the Peninsula to use. It was brought out that the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Health authorities will not relax the regulations requiring the use of cooling plants, and those who desire to sell milk at the cooling plans will be required to install the coolers.
