On Sunday

CINCINNATI - Xavier University will kick off its 1957 football campaign at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 in Xavier Stadium when St. Joseph's, Ind., College invades.

St. Joe has all but one regular returning from a team, which has not lost since the Musketeers came from behind to win 13-8 in the opener last year. The Pumas were the 1956 Indiana Collegiate Conference Champions and tied Montana State in the Aluminum Bowl.

The Musketeers have been working hard to get ready for their 10-game schedule. Xavier has only 15 lettermen supported by 19 sophomores in this year's squad.

Coach Harry "Mick" Connolly said "we are confident that our first unit can hold its own against all comers. But we are concerned with the second and third units and their lack of experience."
