From the latest European papers, the arrival of four Tartars at Constantinople, from Asia, is announced as late as June 3d. They declare the defeat of Buonaparte, by the Pacha of Damascus. This report seems further confirmed by the official account from Petersburg, (Russia) June 11th, in which Gheza Pacha states to the Porte, the severe repulse of the French, and their loss of 6,000 men, in a victory he gained over them at the city of Acre.
