A Hint. We often receive notices of deaths and marriages for publication, and are unjustly taxed with the postage. Now, we are very willing to publish all such events free gratis and for nothing.—but for which, by the way, some printers ask a fee—yet we do think it rather mean in anybody to sponge from us the amount of the postage. At any rate, we are tired of it—especially when the notice sent us, if we should do the same as others do, would be charged a dollar or two for its publication.
Correspondents too, should accompany their communications with their names (not always to be made public, however.) This is necessary in order to guard impositions upon the printer and the public. We certainly do not wish to publish communications, the authors of which are ashamed to acknowledge, to us, at least.
