WILL SPEND $300,000,000 ON ALASKA DEFENSE NEXT YEAR

JUNEAU (P) -A federal official said last week that $300,000,000 will be spent next year for Alaska defense construction.

The estimate was made by Kenneth Kadow, chairman of the Alaska field committee, which acts as a coordinator for federal agencies. It was made upon his return here from a conference in Anchorage with Col. L. E. Seaman,. district U. S. army engineer, - and other government and civilian officials.

Kadow said steps will be taken to break bottlenecks on, priority problems concerning projects directly or indirectly affecting the national defense picture in Alaska.
