The Benefit of Advertising.

A gentleman advertised in the Herald of Freedom some five or six months ago for a pair of oxen and a yoke of steers, which had strayed away. He gained no intelligence from them, and gave them up as lost, supposing, of course, that the money expended in advertising was thrown away with the cattle. A subscriber wrote us last week from Osawatomie that both oxen and steers were in that neighborhood.

The result is that our advertiser will get his property again, which could not have been the case but for the fact of his advertising in the Herald of Freedom.

MORAL:—Go and do likewise, not forgetting to pay the printer, who needs all the money, his due for services rendered.
