Full Text
On Wednesday evening the members of the old Sixth Regiment assembled at the Newhall House, in Milwaukee. Gen. Bragg was called to the chair, and Col. Watrous appointed Secretary. As the storm had prevented the members of the regiment from coming in, it was decided to postpone the re-union until the 16th of July, by which time it is hoped the snow storms will have played themselves out.
A permanent organization was then effected by the election of the following officers:
President--Gen. E. S. Bragg.
Secretary--Col. J. A. Watrous.
Quartermaster--Earl M. Rogers.
Commissary--Frank Graham.
Gen. E. S. Bragg was invited to deliver the address on the occasion of a re-union. The following gentlemen were appointed a committee on toasts: Gen. J. A. Kellogg, Major D. K. Noyes, Col. M. H. Fitch, Lieut. Blair Poynton and Lieut. H. J. Huntington.
Letters were read from Governor Fairchild, Gen. Kellogg, of La Crosse, and others, and after passing resolutions of thanks to the railroad companies, the members separated to meet on the 16th of July--State Journal.
